Your marine survey, in plain English.

Upload the surveyor's PDF. Every finding comes back flying one of four signals, fix, negotiate, watch or ignore, with the page it's on, the surveyor's own words, and a repair-cost range that shows its math.

One line of surveyor, translated.

Surveys are written for the record. Your plan is written for the decision in front of you, and keeps the surveyor's words right beside it.

Exhaust System

Exhaust hoses are wire-reinforced and double clamped at the transom. The port and starboard exhaust risers show heavy external scale and weeping at the manifold joints; recommend replacement. Exhaust elbows were not removed for internal inspection.

Corroded, weeping exhaust risers on both engines

“The port and starboard exhaust risers show heavy external scale and weeping at the manifold joints; recommend replacement.”

Survey page 14, quote checked against the document
What it means
The risers carry hot exhaust and cooling water out of each engine. They're crusted with corrosion and leaking at the joints, so the surveyor recommends replacing them.
Why it matters
Corroded risers can let water back into an engine, which can ruin it. It's a known wear item on gas inboards, especially in salt water.
Next step
Ask the seller to replace both sets before closing, or to reflect the cost in the price. Have a mechanic check for water in the cylinders.
Replace exhaust manifolds, risers and elbows$3,000–$6,000 estimate
How we estimated this
  • Both engines' manifolds, risers and elbows; seized bolts can add labor.
  • 2 engines
  • Gas V8 inboard or sterndrive
  • Shop installs aftermarket or OEM cast parts
  • Seized bolts and access raise labor
  • Estimate only, not a quote. Confirm with your surveyor or a qualified yard before you act on anything here.

Four signals. Nothing left unsorted.

Each flag is the International Code of Signals letter for its action, so a report reads at a glance, the way a hoist reads across a marina.

Built to be checked, not just believed.

You're about to make a five- or six-figure decision. Here's what keeps the plan honest.

Cite or omit

Every finding quotes your survey and names the page. Our software finds each quote in your document, and removes any finding it can't match.

Estimates that show their work

Costs come from a sourced catalog and Florida shop rates, never from the AI's imagination. Every range lists its assumptions.

Your document stays yours

Encrypted at rest, never used to train AI, never written to our logs, and deleted after 30 days or the moment you ask.

Straight about its limits

The plan is AI-generated and says so. It isn't legal, insurance or mechanical advice, and it never guesses what an insurer will cover. Confirm with your surveyor or a qualified yard before you act on anything here.

Free to look. $29 for the plan.

Less than an hour of yard labor, and you'll know which hours you're paying for.

Questions buyers ask

What does the free preview show?

How many findings your survey contains and how serious they are (critical, major, moderate, minor). Nothing else: no quotes or details until you unlock the plan.

How do I know the AI didn't make things up?

Every finding has to quote your survey and name the page. Our software then searches your document for each quote; anything it can't find is removed before you see the report. Scanned pages, where there's no text to check, are marked as unverified.

Where do the repair costs come from?

From a catalog of common survey findings priced from published sources (repair shops' price guides, boating publications, owners' reported quotes) and Florida shop labor rates. Every estimate lists its assumptions and sources. They're estimates to frame a conversation with a yard, not quotes.

Will this tell me whether my insurer will cover the boat?

No. We flag items insurers commonly ask about, but we never say what a particular insurer will require or cover. Ask your agent or insurer.

What happens to my survey?

It's encrypted when it arrives, never used to train AI, and deleted after 30 days, or right away if you press delete. If your PDF has a text layer, we keep only its text, not the file.

Is this a substitute for my surveyor?

No. It makes the survey you paid for easier to act on. Your surveyor saw the boat; call them about anything that matters, and confirm repairs with a qualified yard.
